Battleship Missouri

The USS Missouri was the last battleship commissioned by the US Navy. It served in WWII and the Korean War and was subsequently mothballed. The Japanese formally surrendered at the end of the WWII on the deck of the Missouri in Tokyo Bay. Later it was retrofitted in the early 80's and served in the first Gulf War (Desert Storm). The first attacks against Iraq in that war were cruise missiles launched from the "Mighty Mo" as she is affectionately known. It’s an iconic floating museum that one of the top tourist attractions on Oahu. I visit it often and always find some great things to photograph. At 70+ years of age, the Mighty Mo is still very photogenic due to all the hard work the staff and volunteers do on the ship.
